LemRank Lens Chrome Extension: Complete Guide

What LemRank Lens does

LemRank Lens is a Chrome extension that turns every Google search into an on-the-fly SEO audit — without opening a separate tab, without pasting a URL into a tool, and without an API budget hit.

Search for a keyword and Lens overlays:

• Keyword volume + KD at the top of the SERP.
• A live SERP feature strip — every feature present (Featured Snippet, PAA, AI Overview, Shopping, Image Pack, Local Pack, etc.).
• Per-result badges — domain authority, indexed page count, TLD signal.
• A one-click site audit on any result — opens the LemRank site audit for that URL in a new tab.
• A shareable audit link — every audit generates a public, TTL'd /lens/r/:hash URL you can send to a client or teammate.

Installing Lens

1. Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for LemRank Lens, or click Install from the Lens landing page.
2. Click Add to Chrome, then Add Extension.
3. Pin the extension to your toolbar.
4. Click the icon, then Sign in with LemRank — one OAuth click, no password required.

Lens works on the free plan. It also works fully signed-out for cached SERP data, but per-result audits require an account.

Where the data comes from

• Keyword volume + KD — LemRank's shared global keyword cache (12 sources, deduped).
• SERP features — parsed live from Google's rendered SERP inside your browser. Nothing hits our servers unless you ask for a site audit.
• Domain authority — LemRank's Authority Score, cached.
• Site audit — runs on-demand via LemRank's crawler when you click the audit icon.

Because feature detection happens client-side inside your browser, Lens doesn't burn API budget when you're just browsing.

Privacy

Lens is designed to be a good citizen:

• No search-query logging on the server. Your queries stay in your browser.
• Site audits are opt-in per click. They only run on URLs you explicitly audit.
• Public audits use a short TTL — the shareable /lens/r/:hash link expires so you're not leaving a permanent record of a competitor audit at a guessable URL.
• You can revoke the extension's OAuth token any time from your account settings.

Common mistakes

• Forgetting to sign in. Signed-out Lens shows cached data only. Sign in for per-result audits.
• Auditing every result on every SERP. Site audits count against your plan's audit quota. Use them intentionally.
• Assuming Lens replaces the dashboard. Lens is a shortcut into LemRank — deep analysis still lives in the main app.

What Lens does not do

• It doesn't track rankings automatically — that's the main app's job.
• It doesn't work on Bing, DuckDuckGo or Yahoo — Google only for now.
• It doesn't scrape SERPs at scale — it's browser-side per-query.
