Google Rank Checker
Check where your domain ranks in Google's top 100 for any keyword — live, with the competitors ahead of you.
Enter a keyword and your domain to see the position Google gives you right now.
Free single checks. LemRank tracks positions daily across countries, devices and search engines, and alerts you when they move.
What to do with the position you get
Positions 4 to 15 are the highest-value work on most sites: the page already ranks, so the fastest gains come from tightening the title, matching search intent more closely, and adding internal links — not from writing something new. Positions past 30 usually mean the page is competing on a query it was never built for.
Before you invest, check who holds the page-one slots with the SERP checker and score the keyword with the keyword difficulty checker.
Rank checker FAQ
- How do I check my Google ranking for a keyword?
- Enter the keyword and your domain. This tool reads Google's live top 100 for that keyword and reports the exact position and URL your domain holds, or tells you it is not in the top 100.
- Why is my ranking different from what I see in my own browser?
- Your browser personalises results using your location, search history and signed-in account. This checker runs a clean, unpersonalised query, which is the position most of your visitors actually see.
- Is this rank checker free?
- Yes, single checks are free with no signup. Daily automated tracking across multiple keywords, countries and devices is part of LemRank rank tracking.
- What does it mean if my domain is not in the top 100?
- Google does not rank your site for that query yet. Check the difficulty of the keyword first — if the top 10 is dominated by high-authority domains, a more specific variation of the phrase is a faster route to a first position.
In short
A rank checker returns your domain's current position for a keyword in Google's top 100, along with the exact URL that ranks. Checking from a neutral, de-personalised search matters: your own browser shows results shaped by your location, history and login state, which is why a page can look like it ranks third to you and eleventh to everyone else.
Worked example
What the output looks like
- Input
- Keyword: "internal linking" · Domain: example.com
- Output
- Position 19 — ranking URL example.com/glossary/internal-linking (not the /guides/internal-linking page)
- How to read it
- Two pages are competing for the same term and Google picked the thinner glossary entry. Consolidating them, or pointing internal links at the guide, is a faster route to page one than writing anything new.
How it works
Enter the keyword and your domain
We search Google's top 100 and report the first position where your domain appears, plus the URL Google chose to rank.
Check which URL is ranking
If Google is ranking a different page than the one you optimised, you have a cannibalisation or internal linking problem — not a content problem.
Positions 11–20 are the fastest wins
A page on the second page already has the authority to compete. Improving it usually returns more traffic per hour of work than a new page targeting a fresh keyword.
