How to Export Your LemRank Data (GDPR)

What data is included in an export

A full data export from LemRank includes all information associated with your account. This encompasses all tracked keywords, their historical ranking data, identified backlinks, generated reports, and account-level metadata. The data is provided in machine-readable formats, which allows for integration with other tools or for personal record-keeping.

How to request a full export

To request a full export of your LemRank data:

1. Log in to your LemRank account.
2. Navigate to your account settings. This is typically accessible from the main dashboard or a user profile icon.
3. Locate the "Data Export" or "GDPR Compliance" section.
4. Click the "Request Full Data Export" button.
5. Confirm your request if prompted.

LemRank will then initiate the process of compiling your data.

Export formats (CSV, JSON)

Full data exports from LemRank are delivered in industry-standard formats:

• CSV (Comma Separated Values): This format is suitable for tabular data, such as keyword rankings, historical position changes, and basic backlink information. CSV files can be opened and analyzed using spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice Calc. Each row in a CSV file typically represents a record, and columns represent different attributes of that record.

• JSON (JavaScript Object Notation): This format is well-suited for more complex, hierarchical data structures, such as detailed report contents, account metadata, or backlink attributes that include multiple sub-fields. JSON is a human-readable data interchange format often used by web services and APIs. It allows for nested data, representing relationships between different pieces of information.

Export delivery timeline

Once a full data export is requested, LemRank processes the request and compiles your data. The complete data export, packaged as a ZIP file, will be delivered to the email address associated with your LemRank account within 24 hours of your request. This timeframe allows for the comprehensive collection and packaging of all your historical data across various services.

Selective exports (single project, single report)

In addition to full account exports, LemRank also provides options for selective data exports. These exports allow you to download specific data sets without requesting your entire account history.

• Per-Project Exports: You can export all data associated with a single project. This includes all keywords tracked within that project, their ranking history, and any project-specific settings. To initiate a per-project export, navigate to the specific project's dashboard and look for an export option. These exports typically generate rapidly and download directly to your browser immediately upon completion.
• Single Report Exports: Individual reports generated within LemRank can often be exported directly from the report view. This allows you to download the specific data presented in that report, such as a keyword ranking report for a particular date range or a backlink analysis for a specific URL.

These selective export options are designed for quick access to targeted data and are available directly within the user interface for self-service. For instance, AI-generated insights within reports, which process prompts using Supabase Edge Functions leveraging a LOVABLE_API_KEY server-side, are rendered into the report content and can be included in report exports. This architecture ensures that sensitive API keys are never exposed in your browser.

GDPR right-to-erasure

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), individuals have the right to request the erasure of their personal data held by a data controller. This is also known as the "right to be forgotten." If you wish to exercise your GDPR right to erasure for your LemRank account data:

1. Log in to your LemRank account.
2. Navigate to your account settings.
3. Locate the "Data Export" or "GDPR Compliance" section.
4. Look for an option related to "Delete My Account" or "Request Data Erasure."
5. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your request.

Upon receiving a valid request for data erasure, LemRank will permanently delete all personal data associated with your account, subject to any legal obligations for data retention. This process is irreversible. You may be asked to verify your identity before the erasure process begins to ensure the request is legitimate and authorized by the account holder.
