Track Perplexity mentions and inspect returned sources
A Perplexity rank tracker can measure brand mentions from repeated buying prompts and inspect URLs returned by native Sonar runs. LemRank's current batch workflow does not reliably attribute each URL to one prompt, and it stores an extracted summary rather than the full answer. Project history does not reliably distinguish a native run from a fallback.
Use the same buying prompts over time to see whether your brand appears. Treat source URLs as evidence to inspect, not proof that one page was cited for one prompt.

How LemRank handles this
Built for perplexity rank tracker, not retrofitted
- With a configured Perplexity key, native Sonar runs can return source URLs along with extracted brand-mention results; without a key, Perplexity runs are skipped.
- The current batch workflow applies one response-level citation list to multiple prompts; it does not verify which URL belongs to each prompt.
- Review brand mentions and an extracted answer summary over time; the full generated answer is not preserved in the current result row.
- A native-call failure can trigger a Gemini fallback. Project history may still label that result Perplexity without recording the actual provider, so the label alone is not proof of a native run.
- Evaluate the available AI visibility workflow alongside classic rank tracking during a trial.

SaaS marketers
Monitor brand mentions on evaluation prompts and compare them with your other discovery channels.
Agencies
Confirm native-run provenance separately and respect citation limits before presenting a client-facing report.
Frequently asked
Common questions about perplexity rank tracker
- Can I identify the exact page Perplexity cited for each prompt?
- Not reliably from the current batch result. Native Perplexity returns source URLs for the API response, but the present workflow stores that list against every prompt in the batch. Verify a specific citation in Perplexity before attributing it to one prompt.
- Are these always native Perplexity answers?
- No. Without a Perplexity key, the run is skipped. If a native call fails, a Gemini fallback may be stored under a Perplexity label in project history; that label alone does not verify which provider answered. Confirm provenance separately before reporting it as native Perplexity data.
- Does being cited by Perplexity guarantee referral traffic?
- No. Source inclusion is not a visit or conversion. Use referral analytics to measure actual visits, and treat returned URLs as a separate visibility signal.
