BrightEdge vs Semrush: what each one costs
Semrush figures come from its published price list. BrightEdge publishes no rates; its figure is third-party contract data. Both cited below. · last reviewed 20 September 2026
The short answer
Semrush publishes its prices — Business is $499.95/mo for 5,000 tracked keywords, about $6,000 a year. BrightEdge publishes nothing and reports a median contract near $50,000 a year. That eight-fold gap buys enterprise workflow, support and scale, not better rank data.
BrightEdge and Semrush plans and prices

What the headline price doesn’t say
- These are not competing products in the usual sense. Semrush is a research suite sold self-serve; BrightEdge is an enterprise platform sold with services around it.
- Semrush seats are extra on every tier, which is where agency and in-house bills quietly grow past the sticker price.
- If the case for BrightEdge is accuracy, ask for the methodology in writing. The defensible reasons to pay the difference are workflow, governance and support.
- Semrush's 5,000-keyword ceiling on Business is the usual reason enterprise teams outgrow it — check your real universe against it before assuming it fits.
Our read
If you need research breadth and can live inside 5,000 tracked keywords, Semrush is the obvious value. If you need enterprise governance, many domains and a supported rollout, that is what the BrightEdge premium is actually for. If you need enterprise-scale tracking without the platform, neither is the right shape.
For comparison: what LemRank costs
We publish our numbers: free for 50 keywords, $59/mo on Pro for 5,000 keywords across unlimited projects, and a quoted rate above that for large keyword universes, multiple domains and multiple markets. Every engine and AI-answer tracking is included rather than billed per module. The honest trade-off against a platform like BrightEdge and Semrush: we are a tracking, reporting and API product, not a content workflow suite, and our backlink index is smaller than the big suites’.
